Join Us in Building Healthy Soils and Resilient Communities
Dear CAV members and friends,
As this year comes to a close, we’re reflecting on a simple truth: healthy soil is at the heart of healthy communities. And people like you are helping restore that connection.
This past year, interest in composting, soil health, and community resilience reached new heights. Farmers, gardeners, teachers, community leaders, and residents all came to CAV for guidance, training, and support. Together, we advanced science-based education, strengthened partnerships, and helped more communities turn organic materials into valuable resources—instead of waste.
But the work ahead is even more important.
Vermont, our region, and the country are facing big challenges: changing weather patterns, shifting policies, and growing pressure on our soils and waters. At the same time, communities are seeking practical, local solutions. Composting is one of the most powerful tools we have to meet this moment—if we build the systems and knowledge to support it.
That’s where CAV comes in. Your support helps us:
Support farmers, gardeners, and communities in restoring the land
Champion strong standards and smart policy to protect our soils
Bring partners together to build resilient, place-based solutions
Strengthen soil and compost literacy
Grow markets and infrastructure for high-quality compost
As funding becomes increasingly unpredictable, we need your help to carry this momentum into the new year. Our Year-End Community Campaign is now underway, and we’ve set a goal of raising $10,000. These funds will directly support our education programs, policy work, and collaborative projects that help communities grow stronger—from the ground up.
Will you make a gift today to help us reach our $10,000 goal?
Every contribution, large or small, makes a real difference for soils, farms, and communities.
Thank you for being part of this growing movement. With your support, we can continue building healthier, more resilient communities—starting with the soil beneath our feet.
With gratitude,
The Composting Association of Vermont
