CAV’s Community
Composting strengthens Vermont’s environment, economy, & communities.
From shaping policy and planning to supporting on-the-ground operations and product quality, our members bring deep expertise and decades of experience in food systems and the management of organic residuals in Vermont and beyond.
The CAV community includes engaged individuals and Solid Waste Management Entity (SWME) members from across Vermont who care about composting, soil health, waste reduction, and resilient local systems. Our work is strengthened by the support of sponsors and partners, including compost facility operators, haulers, farmers, community composters, organizations, and businesses that share our mission and values.
CAV also collaborates with a wide range of like-minded organizations, agencies, institutions, and community partners working to advance healthy soils, organics diversion, sustainable agriculture, water quality protection, climate resilience, and circular local economies.
Together, this network helps support education, policy engagement, workforce development, market growth, and practical composting solutions across Vermont and beyond.
